Jimmie Ray “Jim” Middleton

Jimmie Ray “Jim” Middleton, 76, of Vulcan, MO, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Parkland Medical Center, Farmington, MO. He was born in Ironton, MO, December 27, 1946, to parents Freeman and Alpha (Anderson) Middleton.

Jim served our country in the United States Army from 1964 and was discharged in 1969. This was a tradition that his son and grandson have followed.

On July 16, 1966, he married Sharon Middleton and to this union two children were born.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a heavy equipment operator spending most of his time on a dozer and also ran a road grader for the forestry. Later in life he drove a parts truck for General Motors. He was a very hard-working man and very talented and a man that took pride in everything he did. During Jim’s younger years he was known to keep son Tim up late gigging even on a school night. To daughter Kimberly, he was known as the man that could and would fix anything and everything for her except a broken heart. She was forever daddy’s little girl. Jim was a loving companion of fifty-six years to Sharon, who will forever miss him. Jim’s greatest accomplishment was his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Lewis.

Jim is survived by his children: Timothy Middleton and wife Joy of Piedmont, Kimberly Howe and husband David of Knob Noster; grandchildren: Nicholas Middleton and wife Selena, Sydnee Ivy, Sam Ivy; great-grandchildren: Bash, Colby; brothers: Stanley Lewis of Geary, OK. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Daniel Tidmore ministered to the family. Special song was provided by Terry Dement accompanied by pianist Bro. Daniel Tidmore. Nicholas Middleton, Mitchell Middleton, Sherman Lewis, Jerry Patterson, Levi Middleton, Chad Middleton, Roger Allen, Gene Tutterrow, served as pallbearers. Gary Patterson and Jerry Middleton served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Sutton Cemetery, Vulcan, with full military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 281, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
