Wilma May Hill
Wilma May Hill, daughter of the late Arthur Preller Pyrtle and Golda (Dinkins) Pyrtle, was born in Redford, Missouri, on October 25, 1937. She departed this life at Brent B. Tinnin Manor in Ellington, Missouri, on April 19, 2023, at the age of 85.
On October 19, 1957, in Redford, Missouri, Wilma was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Allen Hill and to this loving union four children were born. Bob preceded her in death on September 3, 2018. Wilma was saved and baptized at Redford Nazarene Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning and word searches. Wilma’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Alfred, Wilburn, Freddie and James Pyrtle, one half-brother, Junior Pennington, two sisters, Shirley Ann and Barbara Ann Pyrtle, three half-sisters, Maggie and Neomia Pyrtle, and Melba Cox, one daughter-in-law. Kathy Hill, and one great-grandson, Hunter.
Wilma is survived by two sons, Robert Hill Jr. of Ellington, Missouri, and Mark A. Hill and wife Lisa of Rolla, Missouri, two daughters, Debra Loyd and husband Ray of Ellington, Missouri, and Pamela Baker and husband Sam of Columbia, Missouri, one sister, Zella Sweeney of Bourbon, Missouri, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Wilma will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will mourn her passing.
Visitation and funeral services were held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Mo. Pastor Jim Stewart ministered to the family.
Burial was in Ellington City Cemetery; Rob Hill, Mark Hill, Sam Baker, Ray Loyd, Chris Hill and Brad Hill served as pallbearers.
Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.
