The Southern Reynolds County R-2 Lady Whippets Softball Team won their first Class 1 District Championship title during action on Wednesday. The Lady Whippets beat Bernie 5-0. Ellington will play Plato at 5 p.m. on May 16 at home. The Whippets have a 15-6 record; the Eagles are sporting a record of 14-11. During the season, they have played one common team; both teams beat Licking (Ellington by a score of 15-0 and Plato by a score of 10-2.)
