Robert ‘Bob’ Crocker

Robert (Bob) Crocker, son of the late Jewell May Cash Crocker and Simon Curtis Crocker was born in Black, Missouri on October 5, 1938. On Friday, April 14, 2023, at the age of 84, Bob was ushered into the presence of the Lord.

On August 22, 1959, in Lesterville, Missouri, Bob was united in marriage to Mildred Fortner and they enjoyed 63 years together. To this loving union four children were born, Tracy Rion (Steve), Kelley Kraus (Ken), Robert Crocker and Kerri Burrow (the late Edward).

Bob also leaves behind six grandchildren, Melissa Ford (Christopher), Andrew Jones (Lilly), Harrison Crocker, Kyler Kraus, Taryn Burrow, and Alex Kraus. He had two great-granddaughters Grace and Mary and was looking forward to the birth of a third great-grandchild in September 2023. Bob had two step-granddaughters, Riley and Chloe Gould who delighted in hearing about his fishing trips and enjoyed eating the crappie he caught. Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who also mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Burta Faye Foster (the late Montie), sister Ella Lorraine West (the late Roy), brother, Charles Richard (Ethel) Crocker, sister, Letha Helen Crocker, brother, Roy Lee Crocker, and sister, Ruth Ann Crocker.

Bob retired from the Doe Run Company in 1998. God blessed him with 25 years of carefree fishing and hunting adventures with his friends. The family would like to especially thank the following people who were very dear to Bob: Jimmy Cash, Wayne Henson, Jim Mathes, and Vernon Mathes.

Bob requested to be cremated and his remains buried at Brown Cemetery, Black, Missouri. A private service will be held at the cemetery later this fall. The family would like to thank Pastor Greg Freeman for his comforting words and the prayers from the congregations of Black River Baptist Church in Black and from the Locust Grove United Baptist Church in Oates.
