Linda Kay Lingle
Linda Kay Lingle, daughter of the late Bob and Betty Baker Massie, was born on September 3, 1949 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on June 24, 2023 at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 73.
Linda was a teacher of thirty-three years at Bloomfield Public Schools, primarily spending those years in 2nd grade and then in 5th grade. Educating children and working within the school district was her life. She was proud to be a Wildcat. Linda was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Dexter and later an attender of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid.
She is survived by her son, Clifton Lingle and wife Vanessa of Locust Grove, Virginia; by her daughter, Penny Stevens and husband Greg of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her sister Anita Massie of Ellington, Missouri; by her grandchildren, Brenden Lingle, Dustin Lingle, Caitlyn Lingle, Benjamin Stevens and Sarah Stevens.
The family would like to acknowledge her caretakers, who watched over her in her final days. Knowing their mother had individuals who treated her like family and took care of her every need was a great comfort to them. Those special individuals are Ashley McCants, Bobbie McAlister, and Brandye Watson.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Massie.
Funeral services were conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, June 26, 2023. Interment followed in the Ellington City Cemetery.
