Nathan Thomas ‘Tommy’ Asberry
Nathan Thomas ‘Tommy’ Asberry, son of the late Everett Asberry and Mary (Durham) Asberry, was born in Ellington, Missouri, on January 23, 1943. He departed this life at Brent B. Tinnin Manor in Ellington, Missouri, on June 16, 2023, at the age of 80.
On August 29, 1963, in Carter County, Missouri, Tommy was united in marriage to Roberta “Katie” Crouch and to this loving union four children were born. Katie preceded him in death on February 18, 2019. Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns, pocket knives, marbles and coins. He was a night marshal in Van Buren and Ellington in 1970.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, William “Bill” Asberry, Gary Asberry and Talbert “Squeak” Asberry, and one sister, Dorothy Durham.
Tommy is survived by three sons, Darren Asberry and wife Grace of Ellington, Missouri, Stanley “Peanut” Asberry of Ellington, Missouri, and Gregory Allen Asberry and wife Rose of Centerville, Missouri, one daughter, Kayla Asberry of Winona, Missouri, 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Tommy will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 5-8PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, 10:30AM with Pastor Doug Massie officiating.
Burial was at Ellington Memorial Cemetery.
Greg Asberry, Darren Asberry, Stanley Asberry, Brian Ottwell, Leslie Gibson, Mike Terrill, Andy Asberry and Mitchell Davis served as Pallbearers.
