Vivian Ann Adams
Vivian Ann Adams of Ironton, MO, entered into Heaven, free from illness and fully healed, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 17 days. She was born June 22, 1945 in Ironton, MO, to the late Harvey and Marjorie “Colborn” Weiss. On August 14, 1965, Vivian was united in marriage to Jack Adams who survives. To this union two children were born, Doug Adams and wife Sherry of Sedalia, MO, and Jacque Racer and husband Robbie of Farmington, MO, both of whom survive. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jessica Wolfrum and husband Josh, Dallas Carty, Ashley Adams, and Brice Racer; one great-grandchild Corbin Wolfrum, and many more loving family members, church family members, and friends. Vivian is preceded in rest by her parents, a sister Dolores “Weiss” Savage, a great-grandchild Caroline Rose Wolfrum, and her mother and father-in-law Theodore Adams and Edna Verniece (Wilkinson) Adams-Snyder. When Vivian was 14 years old, she started working at the Baptist Home in Ironton in the dietary department. At the age of 16, she started working as a nurses aide where she was responsible for many tasks, including administering medication to residents. After several years of working for the Baptist Home, she began working as a nurses aide for Washington County Memorial Hospital. After Vivian and Jack began building their family, she decided to stay home and take care of the children and the home. Vivian could do any job on the farm when Jack was not there and wasn’t afraid of hard work. When she wasn’t raising their children or working on the farm, she was taking care of family members, watching other children for friends, working on the Democrat Committee, teaching Sunday School, helping with the Lions Club, working in the nursery at church, or volunteering in some other capacity. Vivian was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton and had a strong faith in the Lord. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. Vivian Adams will be missed by all who were blessed to love and know her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, beginning at 12:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home.
