Jimmy Ray Branstetter of Ironton, Missouri passed away at his home on September 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1935 in Mexico, Missouri the son of the late William Henry and Bernice (Jenkins) Branstetter.
On April 11, 1959 he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Korte who preceded him in death on May 7, 2018. They were parents to five children: Ronald Branstetter (Connie) of Olney, Illinois, Dean Branstetter (Pat) of DeSoto, Missouri, Joe Branstetter (Melinda) of Ironton, Missouri, Jamie Branstetter (Vicki) of Pilot Knob, Missouri and Lori Ann Branstetter who preceded him in death. Jim is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson, Kristopher, three sisters: Sue Knox, Maureen Reed, and Judy Eades, and six brothers: Brooks, Richard, Dave, Randall, Bob, and his twin brother Jackie.
Following high school, Jim proudly served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed golfing, and he loved to fish and hunt in his younger years. He had a workshop full of tools and he was very talented in making and fixing things. Jim loved to hang out with his brothers. He also enjoyed taking long drives. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Dettmer officiating. Visitation began at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment was in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park next to Carol. Memorials may be made to the Arcadia Valley Food Pantry or Backpack Impact.
