A Thanksgiving afternoon crash on Highway 21, east of Lesterville left two people with serious injuries. The crash occurred at approximately 2:49 p.m. on Highway 21 east of Lesterville.
Jim E. Brown, 53, of Park Hills was eastbound in a 2008 Nissan Titan. According to the preliminary investigation, the crash occurred as the vehicle ran off the edge of the roadway; the driver overcorrected and the Nissan ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Brown, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries. He was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. The second occupant, identified as Brad L. Brown, a 36-year-old male from Ironton, did not have the benefit of a safety device and suffered serious injuries as well. He was also airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
The truck was totaled in the crash and towed from the scene by Forshee Towing.
Teen Injured in Crash South of Annapolis
A two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on Highway 49, approximately 2 miles south of Annapolis, injured a teenager. The accident occurred at 11:35 a.m.,
A 17-year-old female from Des Arc was northbound in a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. The Highway Patrol said her car crossed the center line, struck a guard rail, and then a southbound 2017 Cadillace that was driven by Douglas M. Funk, 74, of Annapolis.
The 17-year-old driver, who was not making use of a safety device, suffered minor injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob.
Funk, who was wearing a seat belt, did not report any injuries at the time of the incident.
